I believe the counseling process is a collaborative relationship between the therapist and client based on trust and mutual respect.  As I take this journey with you, we will address your current concerns, work to identify hindering beliefs and behaviors, explore unresolved trauma, and together create and reach your goals.  My theoretical approach to counseling is integrative, utilizing Client-Centered and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

Within this framework, I hope to build a relationship with you that is empathic, safe, encouraging, and empowering for you, while also beginning to understand thoughts and thought patterns.  I desire to explore coping techniques that can have the power to change your actions.  I believe therapy takes place at a pace set by the client and is unique to each person.  I will work hard to meet you where you are and move at a pace you are comfortable with.  I believe all individuals are inherently good, striving to do what they believe is right.  I also believe individuals hold the power within themselves to change when given the opportunity.

My hope is to journey alongside and provide you with this opportunity.  I will work to help you identify unhealthy beliefs and behaviors that might be keeping you from the life you want to live and empower you with the opportunity to make positive changes in your life.  It is my joy to join you on this journey.

Elaine sees clients virtually and in person at the Authentic Balance Counseling Offices and the Frisco Employee Wellness Center.
